Fine scoring in Mna Eile qualifier:  There was a great turnout for the August qualifier of the Mna Eile.  We extend our thanks to all the golfers who travelled to play. Clubs represented included Castlemartyr, Milltown,  Mount Juliet, Slievenamon, Lismore,  Tramore, Faithlegg and Clonmel. Special thanks to our near neighbours in Dungarvan Golf Club and the Gold Coast who turned out in great numbers.

On the day it was Lismore Castlemartyr and West Waterford who shared the honours.  Betty Joyce playing off 13 had a very fine score of 39 points which was equalled by our own Jo Swayne playing off 21.  In third place we had Rose Morrissey Castlemartyr playing off 26 also with 39 points. Mixed Foursomes Friday!  On Friday last the fairways in West Waterford were packed with Mixed foursomes groups playing in a Mixed Foursomes competition kindly sponsored by Tirlain.  There were some interesting draws and there was much speculation as to who would win.  In the end Niall Colleran and Geraldine Curran emerged the winners with a nett 70 just pipping Patrick Power and Frances Carroll who had a nett 71. The competition was a great success and there are plans for more foursomes in the next number of weeks.
