Past Captains and Presidents Day 2026
It was a ‘grand’ day at West Waterford Golf Club last week when past Captains, Presidents and current club officers got together for our 2026 Past Captains & Presidents Day. There was golf, good food and, as always, plenty of craic.
Pride of place went to our 2nd President, Stephen O’Connor, who made the journey from Kilkenny at the grand age of 97. It was great to have him with us. He was joined by our 3rd President, Michael French from Old Parish. Days like this are about the people who have given so much to the club over the years. There was great chat and plenty of catching up between old friends, and a few more memories were made along the way.
A big thank you to our current President and Captains, Ciara Donnelly, Brian Fox and Delia Smith, for organising everything so well. Thanks also to John Keane for kindly sponsoring the winning prize.
West Waterford is building a very strong community within our club, It is built on the commitment and friendship of its members, past and present. Days like this are about recognising where we have come from, but also looking forward to a very bright future, and reminding us just how special a club it is.

Ladies and Gent’s Clubs AGMs
Please put a date in your diary: the Annual General Meetings of both the Ladies’ and Gents’ Clubs will take place on Monday 19th October at 7:30pm in the clubhouse.
The meetings are a little earlier than usual this year, so please make a note now and don’t get caught out. These AGMs are a night when members can hear how the golf activities have fared within the club. Whether you play every week or only now and again, your views are welcome, and the more members who take part, the better the discussion will be.
We look forward to seeing a great turnout on the 19th. For any queries, please contact the Captains’.
