New Year 2025: A Warm Welcome to the Year Ahead
As we begin 2025, West Waterford Golf Club extends our warmest wishes to all our members, sponsors, and visitors. We’re looking forward to a year filled with friendships, enjoyable golf, and, hopefully, plenty of sunshine! Here’s to a fantastic year ahead, and we can’t wait to see you out on the fairways.
President & Captains’ Drive-In Update
The freezing weather and recent snow and ice have brought a slow start to 2025, forcing the postponement of the Presidents’ and Captains’ Drive-In originally scheduled for last Sunday. Keep an eye on our WhatsApp groups and social media channels for updates on the rescheduled date—we look forward to celebrating this special event with you soon!
Men’s Winter League
The Men’s Winter League, sponsored by Comeragh Oil, continues this week. The league will be played over 13 weeks, with the best 8 out of 13 scores to count. It is open to members and guests, with the top 8 will then qualify for knockout matchplay to be played end March.
Check in the WhatsApp group or in the clubhouse noticeboard for details of the terms of competition.
Ladies Winter League
The new Ladies Winter League, proudly sponsored by Shaws Department Store, Dungarvan, started just before Christmas. The team details and competition terms are now posted on the noticeboard in the Ladies’ locker room. So, ladies, take the time to meet your teammates and get out there to show your support over the coming weeks. Best of luck to all participants!

Notice of Club AGM
The 3rd Annual General Meeting of West Waterford Golf Club will take place on Wednesday, 29th January 2025 in the Clubhouse at 7.00 p.m.
If you are interested in serving on the Board of Directors or as part of the Management Committee, please email Ciara Donnelly at honsecretary@westwaterfordgolf.com by Friday, 10th January 2025..
The key responsibilities are outlined as follows:
Board Members: Overseeing the strategic direction and governance of the club.
Committee Members: Assisting with the planning and execution of club operations and events and supporting the overall goals of the club.
Séamus Power & Gary Hurley on the Professional Circuit
As 2025 kicks off, our club members, Séamus Power and Gary Hurley, are preparing for another exciting season on their respective tours.
Séamus will start his campaign early on the PGA Tour, teeing off at the Sony Open in Hawaii on January 9th. This will be followed by the California Swing events, including the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Signature Event.
Gary, meanwhile, is set to begin his Challenge Tour season later this month in South Africa, with four events scheduled before heading to India in mid-February.
We wish both players the very best for their upcoming tournaments and look forward to following their progress throughout the year!
