West Waterford Golf Club – Ladies Notes
Winter League: The lovely dry spell continued last week. The Winter league team members were out in force trying to improve on their previous scores. All I can say is that the results at the end of February should be very interesting indeed!
Get Into Golf: The most welcome sight on any golf course is to see new members out on the course. The Golfing Ireland Get Into Golf programme has been very successful in encouraging people to take up the game of golf. Our ladies club in West Waterford has been particularly fortunate as we have a great group of Get Into Golf players many of whom are playing on the Winter League teams. The next step for this group is to submit cards for Handicap purposes. Six nine hole cards are required or three eighteen hole cards. As the evenings get longer now is the time to get those cards submitted.
Captains Drive In: Sunday 12th March is D day in West Waterford, namely the Captains Drive In, traditionally signalling the start of the golfing season proper. A Club scramble has been organised. If it is a cold day some hot or even cold drinks may have to be administered later in the Clubhouse!

Ongoing 9 Hole Competition: The February ongoing 9 hole competition continues to attract a very good entry.
