Annual Club Classic
We will run our annual club golf classic this year from Fri 31st May to Mon 3rd June. This is a big event for the club to raise funds for important course improvements. The June weekend offers a great opportunity to participate in a great day out, in some lovely summer weather.
We would encourage all members and supporters to participate and bring along a friend or colleague to experience the delights of West Waterford GC.
The classic will be a scramble format. So, whether you want to break the course record, beat par, or just enjoy the beautiful scenery of West Waterford, we can ensure a fun day out for golfers of all abilities. It is open to golf club members and non-club members alike. We have a great selection of prizes, including prizes for best overall, ladies, mixed teams, and gross scores. In addition, all returned scorecards will be placed in a draw for some great prizes, so everyone has a chance of being a winner.
Mighty Effort On Course
Following a livestock incursion on Saturday evening last, the initial concern was how quickly the damage could be repaired. Following a mighty effort by our course staff, along with the help of a large number of volunteers, the course was able to be open once more by Tuesday, with competitions running as normal for the rest of the week. Given the circumstances, this was a remarkable effort and a huge thank you to everyone involved.
Spratt Trophy
This weekend saw the running of the annual Spratt Trophy. Thank you to everyone who participated in this competition and a big thank you to the Spratt Family for the wonderful trophy to the winner and their continued support of the club.

Al Eile Summer Open Series
This series, open to Ladies & Gents, began on Monday 6th May.
It will run every Monday. Wed. & Fri. for the summer. 4 people will qualify each week, including best lady, best gent & best gross, for the Grand Final on Sat 31st Aug.

Junior Academy News
Heavy rain on Saturday evening affected Junior golf this week with just two brave boys taking to the fairways! Hopefully we will have better weather next Saturday evening for our young golfers. Also, Junior teams are invited to play in our annual club classic running all next weekend from Friday to Monday. Entry for Juniors is €10 per person and there is a prize for the best Junior score.
