Successful Classic In The Sunshine!
At the time of writing, our Annual Club Classic is turning out to be a fantastic success. Over one hundred teams will have entered by the time play finishes on June Bank Holiday Monday, and there really aren’t too many nicer places to be than West Waterford GC when the sun shines. It is great to see our Men, Ladies, Juniors and Visitors all enjoying the competition and great weather together.
Men’s Captains Prize (Niall Colleran)
Our popular and hard-working 2024 Captain, Niall Colleran, will host his Captain’s Prize from Thursday 13th to Saturday 15th June. One Qualifying round must be played on either 13th or 14th, with the leaders going through to the final on Saturday 15th. On behalf of everyone in West Waterford, I wish Niall the very best for his big weekend and with any luck the good weather will continue and he’ll have a great turnout.
Super Senior Cup Win!
On Friday last, our Senior Cup team had a great win away to Faithlegg GC, by a margin of 3.5 to 1.5. Huge congratulations to the team who were Eoin Conway, Philip Spratt, Luke Cummins, Darragh Herlihy and Tomas Conway. Fantastic play lads!
The next round is in Douglas GC on 22-Jun where the team will take on our neighbours Gold Coast GC. Best of luck to them and all support on the day is appreciated.
Al Eile Summer Open Series
This series, open to Ladies & Gents, began on Monday 6th May.
It will run every Monday. Wed. & Fri. for the summer. 4 people will qualify each week, including best lady, best gent & best gross, for the Grand Final on Sat 31st Aug.

Junior Academy News
We had 14 Juniors and Cadets playing golf in the sunshine on Saturday evening last. It was many of the cadets’ first evening of the year and it was lovely to see them back on the course again. As always, a big thank you to our Junior Leaders present on the night. It wouldn’t be possible without you.
It was also great to see a couple of Junior teams take part in our Club Classic and hopefully they enjoyed their rounds.
