Exciting Finish to Ladies Winter League Final at West Waterford
The Ladies Winter League Final, sponsored by Shaws Dungarvan, concluded in style on Sunday, with a thrilling contest that came down to the final holes. Under glorious sunshine, a fantastic turnout of the ladies ensured a great atmosphere around the clubhouse for the final round.
After weeks of competition, it was the Wrens who emerged victorious, captained by Mary Fahy and supported by Trish O’Shea, Bridget Blackwell, and Cora Cooney, finishing with an impressive total of 545 points.
In a closely fought battle, the Sparrows, led by Mary Herlihy alongside June Whyte, Ciara Donnelly, and Carmel Fitzgerald, claimed second place.
Individual honours went to:

Séamus Power Secures Top 10 Finish at Valspar Championship
Séamus Power delivered a strong performance at the Valspar Championship in Palm Beach, Florida, last week, finishing in a tie for 8th place with an impressive total of six under par.
Séamus opened his tournament with steady rounds of 70 and 72 before finding his rhythm over the weekend. A second 70 on Saturday kept him in the mix, but it was his brilliant final-round 66 that propelled him up the leaderboard and secured his top 10 finish. His closing round was a display of precision and composure, featuring a string of birdies that helped him climb the rankings. His performance at the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort marks a strong step forward as he builds momentum for the season ahead.
He will now turn his attention to Texas for the next two weeks, starting with the Houston Open this week, followed by the Valero Texas Open the following week. He will likely need to win one of those to get into the Augusta Masters. If he doesn’t qualify for the Masters, he will likely head for the Dominican Republic the week after the Masters.
