Club Classic – Thursday, May 21st to Sunday, 24th

Our Club Classic, sponsored by Cleanzone Technology Limited, Prodec Coatings Professional Painting Contractors and Pierse Motors Tipperary, takes place this Thursday, May 21st to Sunday, May 24th.  This is one of the most important events on the club calendar. This year’s Classic carries added significance as it will run alongside the club’s “Buy a Brick” campaign in support of the new Driving Range development.

The competition format is a full 3 person scramble open to gents, ladies, mixed and junior teams ensuring an enjoyable and inclusive event for both members and visitors. We encourage all members to support what is a key fundraiser for the continued development of our club.  Names can now be put on the timesheet which is open for entries.

Inter-Club Matchplay

Best of luck to our inter-club teams in their upcoming fixtures.  The Ladies Minor Foursomes team face Tramore in the second round at home in West Waterford this Wednesday, May 20th.  Our Pierce Purcell Shield team meet Tipperary in their second round clash on Saturday, May 23rd also at home.  Please come along and support for our teams.

Youth Academy & Driving Range – “Buy a Brick” Campaign

Construction has now commenced on our exciting Youth Academy and Driving Range project.  We are also delighted to confirm that Trackman technology will be installed as a centrepiece of the new facility. This major addition will significantly enhance the quality of coaching and academy development while strengthening the club’s future earning potential.

To fully deliver the project, the club must raise significant funds and while some members have already generously supported the “Buy a Brick” campaign, more support is needed. Contributions of any size — from individuals, businesses or groups — will be permanently recognised on a dedicated wall at the new facility.

An online donation option is now available on our website.  Log in and follow the straight forward process to donate towards the driving range or contact Noel Conway, Jim McGrath, or any member of the Management Committee if you require further information.

Ladies & Gents Get into Golf – 2026 Programme

Registration for our Ladies & Gents Get into Golf Programme opened last Tuesday evening with an excellent turnout and a large number of participants signing up.  Coaching sessions with club professional Colin O’Gorman will commence on May 19th. We extend a warm welcome to all those taking part and wish everyone an enjoyable and rewarding introduction to golf.

Club Matchplay Competitions

The draws for the Mixed Foursomes, Men’s Singles Matchplay (kindly sponsored by PestSafe and club member Batt O’Donovan) and Men’s Fourball Matchplay have been completed.  Draws are displayed on the club noticeboard and have been circulated through the club WhatsApp groups. Members are reminded to check their opponents and ensure matches are completed by the designated closing dates.
