Family Fun Quiz Nights at West Waterford Golf Club
The club will be hosting a series of Fun Family Quiz Nights every Sunday evening from 22nd February to 29th March, running from 5.00pm to 7.00pm.
The quizzes are designed to be relaxed and family-friendly, with proceeds going towards supporting the club’s Youth Academy, helping to develop the next generation of young golfers in the area.
Entry costs €10 for adults, €5 for children, or €20 for a family team.
Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a quiz expert or just coming along for the fun. It’s about bringing families together in our community.

Club Junior Convenor
Everyone at the club is delighted to announce that Micheál Phelan will be our Junior Convenor for 2026. A familiar and much-respected face around the club, Micheál is known for his friendly manner and genuine care for young people.
Micheál will lead our Junior Section with a strong focus on making sure that all children and teenagers feel welcome, supported and, most importantly, enjoy their golf in a fun and positive environment.
Micheál will be backed by a fantastic Junior Committee who work tirelessly behind the scenes, and the club is also very lucky to have our PGA professional, Colin, on hand to support both the committee and our young golfers throughout the year.
Together, the team is looking forward to another successful and enjoyable season for our junior members.
Club Winter League sponsored by Comeragh Oil
After a lot of mixed weather, lots of people were out in force this week to boost their team scores in the Comeragh Oil–sponsored Club Winter League. A couple of significant changes at the top, with Villierstown taking over at the top after some really good scoring.
So, to the team captains, you have 4 weeks to ensure all your team members have 4 x 9-hole cards and 4 x 13-hole cards in before St. Patrick’s weekend. And don’t forget the bonus points for 6 x 9-hole and 6 x 13-hole cards returned.

New Membership
For those interested in joining West Waterford Golf Club, now is an excellent time to become a member. The Club Captains are currently finalising a full programme of events for the year ahead and will shortly publish the 2026 calendar of competitions and club activities. The club will also be running Get Into Golf programmes at end of Spring for both ladies and gents.
In addition, West Waterford now has a PGA Professional on site, with a fully stocked shop offering apparel, equipment, custom fitting and coaching. A comprehensive junior programme is also being developed for 2026.
