Seamus makes the cut in Hawaii!
The PGA Tour stayed in Hawaii last week for the Sony Open where Seamus Power once again was in the field. A great score of -4 on Friday saw Seamus scrape into the weekend on the number at at -2. A less than spectacular weekend however meant he finished the tournament on -1 in a tie for 74th place. He now travels to California for next week’s American Express where he will no doubt be hoping for better fortune. Still, a steady return to action for the West Waterford man after such a long layoff, it has to be said.

- Bunkers: Out of play until further notice*. Drop outside bunker at nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole
- Buggies are not permitted on the course until further notice*
- *Keep an eye on the noticeboard and BRS for updates in relation to Bunker and Buggy status

Junior Academy News
The Junior Leadership Team met on 4th January and made a plan for the coming year. A prize-giving ceremony to present all outstanding prizes from last year will take place later in the month. Anthony O’Donnell has been named Junior Captain for 2024 so please join us in wishing Anthony the very best of luck for the year ahead.
Fantasy Golf 2024
Week 2 of the Fantasy League took place in Hawaii for The Sony Open. Players had to select a brand new roster for this tournament, and had to put even more thought into it than last week. The Sony Open had a full field of 144 players with a halfway cut so bench players had a chance to come into play. This proved to be the case as a couple of the more fancied starters, like Matt Fitzpatrick for example, missed the halfway cut meaning subs had to be used by many. In the end, the unheralded and unselected Grayson Murray won the tournament in a 3-man playoff against two players who were selected by a few astute players, Keegan Bradley and Ben An. The WhatsApp group will be updated when the FedEx Cup points are awarded later on Monday, but the league is so far shaping up to be very close indeed. Next week, it is onto California for The American Express, where it is a full field once more and Seamus Power is in the field once again. Best of luck to all!
