After the 30th Anniversary festivities last week, this week was a relatively quiet week in terms of Men’s competitions. However, the popular ongoing Tuesday 9 hole was won by Michael O’Keeffe, returning to form with a great score of 21pts. Then, on the weekend the annual Men’s Scotch Foursomes was held. The Clashmore Currans, Pat and Jerome, teamed up very well to take the win by the tightest of margins from Sean Tobin and Patrick McCarthy. Congratulations to all the winners.

Women’s Notes
Mná Eile: The final round of the Mná Eile qualifier was held on Thursday 7th September. Mary Lou Carroll with a great score of 38 pts won with Marie Farrelly Waterford second with 37 pts. The following also qualified this month: Mary Ahearne Lismore, Anne McKay Waterford, Una Mulligan, Kathleen Broderick and Mary French West Waterford. The Grand Final will be held on Sunday 17th September. Timesheet from 1 pm is open for all those who qualified during the series for booking.
Bronze Medal Regional Final: Congratulations to Mary Fahey who represented the club on Wednesday 6th September in Ballyneety Golf Club. Mary qualified for the Bronze Medal Final to be held in Headfort Golf Club, Co. Meath on Wednesday 4th October.
Fun Scramble: Joan Sheehan and Jim Moroney have done a super job organising a fun scramble. As the days are getting shorter the fun scramble has been moved to Tuesday Mornings at 10 am starting this Tuesday 12th September. Please support.

Junior Academy News
18 Juniors took to the fairways on what was a glorious evening of sunshine on Saturday 9th September. Our ongoing Junior Golfer of the Year series was held and some outstanding golf was played. Mick Curran played the best golf of his life to win the weekly competition with 27pts He was closely followed by young Anthony O’Donnell, who also played his best golf shooting 2 over par gross for 26pts. The consistent Ted Lynch was 3rd with 19pts. Well done to all the winners. We go again next Saturday 16th September.
Course Closure
Please be aware that the course will be closed from 4 pm on Sunday 17th September, Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th to facilitate hollow tining and sanding. Your understanding is appreciated.

Former Irish Rugby International, Mike Ross, will appear in the Clubhouse on Friday 6th October at 7pm. A great evening is promised, with Ireland set to play their crucial World Cup Match against Scotland the following day. Tickets for the event are €20.
