West Waterford Golf Club News – w/c 04th August 2025

Lady Captain’s Prize Weekend at West Waterford

This weekend, the ladies of our club will come together to celebrate our Lady Captain, Geraldine Hickey, on the occasion of her Lady Captain’s Prize.

Since taking up her role, Geraldine has been a truly dedicated and hard-working Lady Captain. Her unwavering commitment, friendly presence, and constant support at club events have been greatly appreciated by all our members.

The competition itself will be a 36-hole stroke, taking place on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th August, and promises an exciting and competitive weekend of golf.

The celebrations will continue Saturday evening with the Lady Captain’s Dinner in the clubhouse, where members will gather to mark Geraldine’s captaincy and show their appreciation for her efforts throughout the year.

We extend our very best wishes to Geraldine for a successful and memorable weekend, and hope that she, her husband Edward, and their guest thoroughly enjoy the occasion.

Note: In lieu of gifts, Geraldine would ask people to consider donating to her chosen charity, Dungarvan Community Hospital, a wonderful community service that is close to her heart.

Open Week – Thanks to All

As our Open Week draws to a close, we at West Waterford Golf Club would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make it such an enjoyable and successful event.

We are especially grateful to our generous sponsors, whose continued support allows us to host our open week each year.

We also wish to thank the many visitors who travelled to take part in the various competitions — it was a pleasure to welcome you to our course, and we hope you enjoyed your time with us.

A special word of thanks goes to all those who worked behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly throughout the week.

We look forward to welcoming you all back to West Waterford again soon.
