A disappointing week for West Waterford Golfers on the Professional Circuit

It was a tough week for West Waterford’s golfers on the professional circuit, as both Séamus Power and Gary Hurley failed to make the weekend cuts in their respective tournaments.

On the PGA Tour, Séamus Power competed at the Shriners Children’s Open, held at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas. Séamus started strong with an opening round of 68, but a second-round score of 73 left him two shots shy of making the cut. Despite this setback, the result only drops him one place in the FedEx Fall series, where he currently holds 3rd position, securing his entry into the early-season signature events. Séamus will now travel to Japan for the upcoming ZOZO Championship.

Meanwhile, Gary Hurley, fresh off an impressive performance last week, was in China for the Hangzhou Open. Unfortunately, rounds of 71 and 81 saw him miss out on weekend play as well. On a positive note, Ireland’s Conor Purcell took home the trophy, a win that propelled him to 4th place in the Challenge Tour series. Gary will take a well-deserved break this week before heading to Mallorca for the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final, scheduled for the weekend of October 31st.
