Busy Week for West Waterford Golfers on the Professional Circuit

It was an eventful week for West Waterford golfers, with Séamus Power and Gary Hurley both delivering impressive performances on the international stage.

At the Black Desert Championship in Utah, Séamus Power secured a solid tied 11th finish. Despite a slow start with an opening round of 72, Séamus bounced back with stellar rounds of 64, 68, and 65, finishing the tournament with a -15 total. This strong showing earned him valuable FedEx Cup points in the Fall Series and moved him into 2nd place in the ‘AON Next 10’ grouping. He is set to compete again this week at the Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, in China, Gary Hurley had a successful run at the Hainan Open, where he was aiming to secure crucial points on the Challenge Tour. Gary’s consistent play, with rounds of 65, 69, 72, and 70, earned him a tied 15th finish. More importantly, his performance has guaranteed him a spot in the prestigious Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final in Mallorca in three weeks. Gary will remain in China to compete in the lucrative Hangzhou Open this week.
