International Golf! Firstly huge congratulations to Leona Maguire on her first win on the Ladies Professional Golf tour in Florida. What a wonderful ambassador she is for Ladies Golf and Ireland.

Meanwhile as these Notes go to Press our own Seamus Power goes into the last round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Played over three courses Seamus posted two fantastic 64’s and led the tournament going into the third round. Unfortunately yesterday was one of those days!. However Seamus is only two shots behind the leaders and we will all be cheering him on this evening. He is paired with Jason Day

Jo Swayne comes out on top in the January 9 Hole: Jo Swayne returned a very healthy score of 43 points to fill first place. Jo’s 9 hole handicap was 10. In second place we had Phil Kelly with 41 points playing off her 9 hole handicap of 16. Mary Herlihy was third with 40 points playing off a 9 hold handicap of 17. Well done ladies.

WINTER LEAGUE: In the Winter League the second round of singles matches continues until February 18th. Rumour has it that there are some really good scores in which will certainly result in some movement on the leader board! The third round which is in Match Play format commenced on the 1st February and I have heard of some interesting results, even at this early stage! There are two rounds in the Match Play format and the two matches must be completed by March 27th.

COMPETITIONS: An ongoing 9 hole competition will commence on the 1st February and will run through to the end of February.

GET INTO GOLF CAMPAIGN: Una Mulligan, our Get into Golf co-ordinator is busy finalising the Get into Golf Programme for West Waterford. This is a brilliant way to start off playing golf and has proved to be very successful in golf clubs throughout Ireland. If you are interested in trying out golf please phone Gillian in the Clubhouse 058 43216. I will have more details soon.
