Ladies Notes w/e Sunday 26th September 2021

For West Waterford ladies all roads lead to Strandhill in Sligo next weekend. The Revive Active All Ireland Fourball has reached the semi-final stage. Next Saturday our team comprising Catherine Ruane/Jo Swayne, June Whyte/Joanne Fox, Mary Lou Carroll/Marie T Curran, Deirdre Ruane/Una Mulligan and Denise Nugent/Finola Butler take on Ballybunion. Should West Waterford win they will face either the K Club or Ballycastle (N.I) in the final early on Sunday morning. The reserve pairing is Eithne Ashby and Margaret O Sullivan.

It has been a long road to reach the semi-final and we are grateful to those players who have contributed to the success of the team . Players like Jean Conway who partnered Jo Swayne were unbeaten in all their matches and Mary Donnelly who was a stalwart on the team will not be in Strandhill. Ciara Donnelly played a vital role along the way but does travel to Strandhill with fellow panellist Jean O Donovan.
Saturday is a huge day for West Waterford and we wish all the ladies the very best of luck in Strandhill. They will be cheered on by a large cohort of supporters.

The Junior Alliance: This alliance was held in West Waterford on Monday last. The 53 ladies really enjoyed the course; they found it in great condition.TG for good weather as it hadn’t been hosted since 2019 due to weather conditions and Covid!!. Also thanks to Gillian who manned the timesheet in the lead up to it.
