Ladies Notes w/e Sunday 24th October 2021

Winter rules: Winter Rules have commenced at West Waterford Golf Club from Monday 18th Ooctober. This means we now have placing (within 6 inches/15 cm) on fairways and in the rough. Consequently rounds played are not used for handicap purposes again until Spring 2022. Competitions: The 9 Hole ongoing sponsored by Eithne Ashby continues, the 2 best cards to count. The 13 Hole Breast Cancer research ongoing competition continues till Saturday 30th October. We use the Course handicap for this competition. The Pink theme is this month’s big issue for our Lady members, and creative outfits are being designed. It will make for a very colourful event on October 31st when the 13 Hole Scramble will be played to finalise the fundraising for this worthy cause. You could be chosen as the most suitably dressed. Please ensure your name is on the timesheet to take part in this event.
The Revive Panel: The committee would like to thank the Revive Panel for their thoughtful Thank you Card. Though the excitement has died down, the memory lasts on. The Winter League: Is your name on the list from which teams will be created. It begins on the 26th November. There is usually great interest in how the teams are placed. The event is generally a mix of individual play and match play. There are prizes for the best individual score each month, as well as the overall team prize, and prizes on the day of the Final at the end.
