CONDOLENCES  Earlier this week members in West Waterford were saddened to hear of the untimely death of Killian Power on Tuesday last following a short illness.  Killian is the son of Pat and Breda Power.   On behalf of our Lady Captain Ciara Donnelly and all the lady members I extend our condolences to Pat, Breda daughter Georgina and extended family. May Killian Rest in Peace.

On Saturday news filtered through about the death of Charlie Ware, beloved grandfather of Gary Hurley winning Walker Cup Team Member and currently playing on the European Challenge Tour. Our sympathies are extended to all the Ware family.

SEAMUS JOINS THE TOP 50 RANKING GOLFERS IN THE WORLD! The writer of these Notes is somewhat bleary eyed this morning!  At 2.45 this morning Seamus Power putted his way into the top 50 Golf players in the World when he sank a birdie putt on the 18th hole in the Sony Open in Hawaii.  For a second consecutive week Seamus played tremendous golf.  Throughout the last four days he has played at times, sparkling golf, but even more importantly, steady and consistent  golf when needed.  He finished 19 under to share in a two man tie for 3rd place.  We salute you Seamus!

WINTER LEAGUE:  On Sunday the carpark was very busy in West Waterford as members took to the fairways on a lovely mild day.  The Ladies Winter League is progressing very well and, while the conditions do not match those in Hawaii, there was a great atmosphere.  Ladies, keep on playing.  All those scores count!
