Ladies Notes w/e Sun 29th Nov 2020

The World Handicap System rolled out on Tuesday 2nd September. Most of you have created WHS system account by logging on to Golf Ireland .ie. Essentially your handicap will be different depending on the course you are playing. There is a sheet displayed in the Clubhouse to find out what your course handicap will be. You will need to know your playing index and course handicap.
Resumption of Golf: I’m sure you were delighted to hear of our move from Level 5 restrictions to a modified Level 3, and happy to return to competitive Golf from December 1st . The timesheet is already open. The recommendations we are all familiar with apply: arrival -play –depart without delay……..The 9 Hole Competition is kindly sponsored by Geraldine Hickey, and we look forward to the 13 Hole Christmas Competition ongoing till Mon 21 December. As you would expect there is placing on the fairways and in the rough.
New Committee: We wish Nell Suipéil well in her role as incoming Captain. Nell works extremely hard for the Club and is most thorough in all she undertakes. Nell is surrounding herself with a hardworking Committee which will deliver all through the year.
Walk for Laura: As you know some of our members have undertaken a challenge of walking 10,000 steps a day for 6 weeks to raise awareness of SUDEP, the sudden unexpected death by Epilepsy, and to fund raise for this worthy cause plus the Lyons Club. Laura was one of our brightest young players who was taken from us all too soon.
Didn’t our Hurlers really deliver! Such an exciting match.
Now we can look forward to Golf and an exciting Final, within two weeks
