Ladies Notes w/e Sun 19th June 2020

Aoife storms through in Joan Curran Memorial: On Sunday we had wonderful playing conditions in West Waterford for our first Major, the Joan Curran Memorial played in memory of our much missed former Lady Captain. The in form Aoife McGovern scorched round the course returning 44 points playing off her new handicap of 24. In second we had the inform Mary Herlihy returning yet another 40 points in the space of a couple of weeks. Mary plays off 33. Sunday was a memorable day for Catherine Ruane as she captured her first Gross victory with 20 gross points. It was great to see Joan Sheehan playing off 21 come home in third place with 38 points. Category A (0-21) was won by Jean Conway playing off 21 with a healthy 36 points. Category B (22-29) went to Mary Fahey who had a very nice round playing off 29 with 34 points while our hardworking Secretary Bridget Blackwell playing off 35 won Category C (30+) with 37 points. On behalf of our Lady Captain Phil Kelly I would like to thank the Curran family for their generous sponsorship and congratulate all the winners who are keeping the Handicap Secretary busy!
