Ladies Notes w/e 24th Nov 2018

Phil Kelly at the Helm: On Wednesday night last despite the horrendous weather conditions we had a very good attendance at our Annual General Meeting. Phil Kelly donned the 2020 Green Jacket and on behalf of all the ladies I would like to wish Phil the best of luck for her year as Lady Captain. Phil has been one of our most committed members for many years and I have no doubt she will make a great Lady Captain and will ensure that we are all out playing! Phil thanked all the members and commended Jean O Donovan on her very successful year. The only other change on the Committee was the appointment of Bridget Blackwell as Club Secretary. Bridget replaces Ciara Donnelly who has taken a well earned break from Committee duties.

Winter League: The Winter League has got underway with the Singles competition. All matches must be played by December 15th. Members have been circulated with the teams and there are some very interesting combinations. Please consult the noticeboard. The competition will now run over 13 holes. This is a great opportunity to keep your golf game ticking over.

Christmas Celebrations: On the 8th December Phil has organised a 9 Hole Ladies Scramble. There will be a shot-gun start at 1.00pm followed by some beverages, hot or cold and some Christmas Treats. Unfortunately Santa Claus is otherwise engaged, but there should be plenty of fun and banter. Everybody is welcome.

Coastal Alliance: The Coastal Alliance competition certainly encounters bad weather and last Thursday event in the Gold Coast had to be deferred to the New Year. We are hopeful that the December event will take place on December 5th in West Waterford.

On-Going Competitions: At the moment there are 2 competitions running – the 13 Hole and 9 Hole competitions
