Ladies Notes w/e 15th March 2020

As I write these Notes we are in challenging and uncertain times and Sport takes a back seat for the moment. All we can do is follow the excellent advice which is available to all of us. The course is open and all the current guidelines re social distancing apply including leaving the flag in the pin at all times. Stay safe.

Winter League: Now that the fourth round is completed it is obvious that at the top of the leaderboard things are very tight! Castletroy still retain a slender lead with 324 points closely followed by East Cork with 317 points. West Waterford have 305 points while Ballybunion have 300 points followed by Templemore with 278 points and Lahinch with 272. June Whyte had a wonderful score of 29 Points in the competition. The Matchplay round has to be completed. Given the current situation all closing dates are being reviewed including the date for the Final. Watch these Notes!

June Whyte wins: The 13 Hole sponsored by Marian Hilliard was won by June Whyte playing off 18 with 29 points. No doubt this is a good sign of things to come for June!. The consistent Jo Swayne playing off 16 filled the second spot with 28 points while Mary Herlihy who is playing really good golf at the moment was third playing off 34 with 24 points.

Lady Captain’s Quote: “Golf is a game of Co-ordination, Rhythm and Grace. Women have these to a high degree!”
