Super Win for Gary Hurley:  Saturday June 25th was a special day for Aglish native Gary Hurley when he gained his first win as a Professional in the Alps de Andalucia, played just a few miles from the Portuguese border in Valle Guadiana.  A member of the winning Walker Cup team in 2015, the 29 year old played super golf to win by 4 strokes.  Gary has been playing really well this season and this win is very well deserved.

Interlude Competition Throws Up Sizzling Scores:  If it was a racecourse, the going in West Waterford last Thursday could be described as Good to Firm!  It certainly brought out the best in the players.  Marie T Curran playing off 24 produced a great round of golf returning a score of 43 points.  Just one point behind we had Mary Lou Carroll playing off 20 returning another super score of 42 points.  In third we had our financial wizard i.e. Treasurer Mary Curran who played immaculate golf to return a score of 41 points playing off 45.  I think I am glad I was’nt out playing on Thursday last!

Get Into Golf Presentation:  There was a superb atmosphere in the Club house on Tuesday last as our Get into Golf ladies completed their 8 weeks introductory course.  It was lovely to see so many completing the course and we look forward to seeing our new golfers on the course over the next number of weeks.  Onwards and Upwards!  On behalf of our Lady Captain Ciara I would like to thank our Get into Golf Convenor Una Mulligan who did a fabulous job in co-ordinating the programme.

Great Win for Geraldine:  Last week-end Denis Herlihy presented his Captain’s Prize.  There was a great entry and congratulations to the winner Brian Fox.  Denis very kindly put up a prize for the Ladies in which Geraldine Curran blitzed the nine holes with a score of 24 points.   Congratulations to Denis and to all the prizewinners.
