Murrays Pharmacy Open 3 Ball Throws up close finish!  On Thursday last West Waterford hosted a Ladies Open team of three competition kindly sponsored by Murrays CarePlus Pharmacy.  The winning team comprising Betty Joyce, Castlemartyr and our own Bridget Blackwell and Phil Kelly brought in a great score of 90 points. Hot on their heels were Aishling Fennell from the Gold Coast and our own Jean O Donovan and Patricia O Shea with a very nice 89 points.  The third team, made up of players from Youghal and Dungarvan were E. Carroll, M. O Donoghue and Caroline Cullinane who had a good score of 88 points.  Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to our Sponsor Murrays Pharmacy.

MNA EILE Qualifier – Your last chance to Qualify!  Mark Thursday Sept 1st in your diary as it is your last chance to qualify for the Mna Eile Final on Sunday 18th September.  Please phone 058 43216

Bernie Twomey Memorial 18 Hole Stableford:  Please put your name on the list for the Bernie Twomey Memorial which will be held on Sunday 4th September.  This is always a special competition where we remember our founding Lady Captain Bernie Twomey whose contribution to West Waterford was immense.

Get Into Golf News:  There is an on-going competition underway for the Get into Golf members.  It is lovely to see so many players taking part.

What’s Happening this week

Maria Moloney Boutique GOY competition:  As the golf season proper draws to a close there is plenty of interest in the Golfer of the Year competition.  It is tight at the top and the Maria Boloney Boutique competition results will be important to the final outcome!  While the competition started on Sunday it continues this Thursday.

Spratt Trophy August 27th and 28th –  On Saturday and Sunday next we have the inaugural running of the Spratt Trophy.  This Members competition is open to Ladies and Men  and should provide some very interesting competition.
