West Waterford  Intermediate Ladies Progress:  On Saturday our Intermediate team played the Gold Coast in the second round of the Intermediate Cup. Played in West Waterford June Whyte, Jo Swayne, Mary Lou Carroll, Denise Nugent and Marie T Curran played super golf against a strong Gold Coast side. The standard of golf on both teams was exceptional with West Waterford emerging as winners.  The quarter finals will be played against Youghal or Fermoy.

Challenge Cup Team Bow Out:  On Sunday West Waterford hosted Youghal in the second round of the Challenge Cup league.  In a very closely fought affair Youghal emerged the winners having won the deciding match on the 19th hole.  The team comprising Phil Kelly, Bridget Blackwell, Marie Curran, Frances Carroll and Ger Curran put up a steely performance winning two out of the three matches.  Sincere thanks to the hardworking manager of the team Suzanne Dalton.

Hot Scoring on a Hot Day:  Thursday was a very warm day in West Waterford and the golf matched the conditions in the Cloyne Pharmacy sponsored Team of Three Open Day.  Bridget Blackwell, Aine Parks, and Trish O Shea played outstanding golf to come home with 95 points.  Mary Lou Carroll, Margaret O Sullivan and Marie T Curran also played amazing golf to return a similar score of 95 points but were beaten on the countback.  In third place we had Denise Ruane, Marie Curran and Marian Hilliard who played a very steady round of golf to return a score of 93 points.  Sincere thanks to our Sponsors Cloyne Pharmacy.
