Jack Frost makes his Presence felt!  As we head into mid December  conditions for playing golf have deteriorated.  The severe frost  has curtailed our time on the fairways but the good news is that by the middle of this week we should be back on the course!

Gary Hurley Plays solid Golf:  In the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa Gary Hurley has acquitted himself well in this his second DP World Tour event finishing T32. Throughout the four days Gary showed great resilience as on all four days he hit tough patches but played his way out of them.  Next week Gary is off to Mauritius to play in the AfrAsia  Bank Open.

Last Call for Winter League Players:  The Closing Date for the Winter League teams is December 17th.  The format has been amended as follows:  Round 1 – December 27th – January 31st A nine hole competition, two cards to be submitted.  What better way to work off the excesses of Christmas than to get out and play a competitive match for your team! The matchplay element of the Winter League also kicks off on the 27th December and will run right up to the 25th March.  This will be run over 13 holes and two cards will need to be submitted

Round 2 – (1 February – 28 February) A 13 Hole competition – two cards to be submitted

What’s Happening This Week!

Lions Club 13 Hole Competition:  For many years now West Waterford has organised a golf competition in aid of the Lions Club.  The late Derry Twomey was the driving force behind this initiative and over the years a lot of money has been raised for the Lions Club.  The prizes consist of lovely hampers containing all we need for the Christmas festivities.  The competition runs up to the 20th December.  Now is your chance to get out and support a worthy cause

On-Going 9 Hole:  The on-going 9 hole will run up to the 31st December.
