Our president David Condon had a huge turnout for his prize to the ladies on Sunday. Not surprising with a beautiful inscribed Ring Crystal trophy as the main prize. The mens big day is now just over two weeks away and we expect another large turnout for our second major of 2021. Timesheets will be posted on the board shortly and you are advised to put up your name early to secure your preferred tee time. The 18 hole stableford competition will run over two days with the best overall 18 hole card securing the coveted prize.

Fedex Cup Playoffs 2021 Seamus Power
It was a case of so close and yet so far for Waterford’s Seamus Power on the final day at the Northern Trust on the PGA Tour in New Jersey.
Seamus was competing in the FedEx Cup playoffs for just the second time and he was hoping to make the second round ( BMW Championship) for the first time in his career. To do that he had to make the top 70.
The Barbasol Championship winner in July, was a projected 69th in the standings playing his 72nd hole at Liberty National after a brilliant up and down birdie at the 8th (his 17th hole). But he missed a 13-foot par putt to on his final hole to miss out on the BMW event, finishing in 72nd spot, ahead of Tyrell Hatton and Matt Fitzpatrick.
“It what is it is,” Power said. “I gave it my best. Bogey at the last was disappointing, but in a few days I’ll be feeling better about it.”
“Being in the playoffs was great,” he said. “It was my second time in the playoffs, and really first time with a chance to advance to the penultimate one. So, it was different for me. These are the fields you want to be playing in. I wish I had my best game coming in here, give yourself a chance, but I was able to hang in there. Solid week, nothing special, but something to build on for next season.”
Another great week for Seamus. He finished on -8 after rounds of 70, 67, 70 and 69 and collected $48,925 for his week’s work which brought his season’s earnings to a best ever $1,547,290.
He also played in the final round with Masters’ Champion Hideki Matsuyama and another recent PGA Tour winner, South African, Garrick Higgo and came out on top of the that three ball.
After a brilliant season, Seamus can now take a few weeks off to plan his schedule for the 2021/22 season now that he has full playing rights after his recent win. The new PGA Tour season kicks off with the Fortinet Championship in Napa California on September 16.
