Murphy moves into double figures after 45 years
Our competition secretary Jimmy Murphy celebrates 50 years golfing in 2021. For the last 45 years he is justifiably proud of maintaining a single figure handicap throughout the entire period. On Sunday morning last Jimmy was out as usual at 8.30 with playing partners Eddie Stack and Tomas Curran. On signing in he discovered that his playing handicap had gone up to 10, double figures for the first time in 45 years. Whether or not the extra shot mattered he went out and shot 38 pts for the 18 holes. Well done Jimmy on a major achievement over the years and I am sure you will be back in single figures before too long.
Seamus Power in contention for top 70 in Fedex Cup Playoff
Due to the Northern Trust being extended to Monday we will not have a final result in time for our weekly notes. We are delighted to report that Seamus made the cut and is in a good position going into the final round to claim his place in the BMW Classic later this week. Seamus currently lying 40th on 5 under par after 3 rounds will need to find a low final round and move closer to the top 25 if he is to progress in the playoffs. Best of luck Seamus.
Bunclody Senior Scratch Cup

Covid 19 Protocol
Whereas ongoing updates are taking place regarding covid 19 protocol members and visitors are reminded that regulations are still in place at West Waterford golf club. Sanitising and social distancing must be strictly observed. Everybody entering the office and shop must wear a mask. Flag sticks can now be removed and it is advised that only one player in each group handle the flag stick and sanitise hands afterwards. Bunkers may be raked and there is no relief in bunkers. All tee times are to be booked in advance and all visitors and guests must record name and contact number on arrival. Covid numbers are on the rise and we must maintain the effort so as not to contribute to the increasing numbers. Your cooperation is essential in maintaining the protocol.
