Gents Notes w/e Sun 29th March 2020

Course Closed due to Covid-19

As of last weekend we began to observe the recommendations of the HSE in relation to activity on golf courses. On Tuesday 24th March we received an email from the GUI recommending that all golf clubs across the island close with immediate effect until April 19th 2020. Due to copyright restrictions we are not allowed to reproduce the contents of the email but members can access the full statement on Golfnet. West Waterford Golf Club is glad to comply with this directive and will continue to comply with all further directives. The health and safety of our members and the general public is paramount at this time and however long it takes it will be nice to able to look back and say we played our part. By now I am sure you are all familiar with the HSE guidelines so please adhere strictly to them to ensure the best outcome from the ongoing situation. Take care of yourselves and of each other. Keep in touch with each other by text or phone call and maintain the friendly atmosphere that has become an integral part of our club. The course may be closed but the comraderie is still open.

Due to the Covid 19 virus our Sunshine Classic and Sunshine Raffle have been postponed to a later date. The Ray Rochford Charity Fund raiser scheduled for March 31st has also been postponed. The Easter golf camp for juniors has also fallen victim to Covid 19.
