Gents Notes w/e Sun 28th June 2020

Let the Competitions Begin
The long wait is over and we are delighted to see a resumption of closed and open competitions at West Waterford GC. Golf’s protocol in Phase 3 will commence as scheduled on Monday 29th July. We have spent the last six weeks playing casual golf and becoming accustomed to the measures set out in the Government’s Roadmap for a phased return to golf. Players have had ample time to familiarize themselves with the protocol which of course continues to be observed on an ongoing basis. Our first competition takes place on Saturday and Sunday and Sunday, July 4th and 5th. This will be an 18 hole singles stableford played off the white markers.

New Regulations for Competition Entry
Those playing in the competition must book their tee times on the BRS booking system. All are required to have a current GUI number and a current handicap. For the moment players may play only once in any club competition. Re-entry is not allowed. Our touch screen computer may be used for player entry and for score returns. The sign-in desk in the hallway will be open and players are requested to enter via the front door and observe the distancing regulations indicated on the wall and floor signage. Only one person at a time may approach the sign-in desk. Having signed in using your own pen, please put your €7 entry fee in the envelopes provided and place n the competition entry box. A one way system is in operation and you are requested to exit the building via the side door. Extra sanitizing stations have been erected so please sanitize your hands on entering and leaving the building. Your full cooperation regarding health and safety regulations is essential to the successful operation of our club in the current climate.
