Top Three Finish for Pat Higgins in GUI Gold Medal Final
With the introduction of the GUI All-Ireland Gold Medals club golfers were given a unique opportunity to participate at individual level in an all-Ireland GUI event. Spread across three different handicap categories, the competition is open to all club members. From the first stage at West Waterford Pat progressed to the regional final at Cahir Park in the 10-17 category. From there he booked his place in the All Ireland as the leading qualifier. Four regional finals were held throughout Ireland in August, with all club qualifiers playing for a place in the All-Ireland Final. The best three scores in each category in each provincial final advanced. (36 golfers in all).
The final took place on the Ryder Cup Course at the K Club on Tuesday 8th October. Pat Higgins finished 3rd in his category, quite an achievement in such a high class field. He was presented with an inscribed commerative medal following the final. Congratulations on a great performance Pat, and thank you for representing your club with distinction in such a prestigious event.

Winter League 2020
We are hoping to get our Winter league underway in November with a view to completing round 1 before Christmas. The early qualifying rounds will be run over 13 holes and entrants may play any day from Monday to Sunday. You can sign-up for the league now on the sheets posted on the notice board in the hallway. We could use some extra help with score cards at weekends during the league. Volunteers can contact Pat Power on 087 6611276.

Weekly Open 9 Hole Competition
For the next number of weeks we are running a weekly 9 hole competition over the front 9. Re-entry is allowed with your best card counting. With the evenings getting shorter here is an ideal opportunity to get a few holes in and stay in shape during the winter months. All handicap levels welcome.
