Seamus Power – That Winning Feeling
PGA Tour Winner Seamus Power paid another visit to the locality last week to meet up with family and friends. As usual, Seamus spent some time at West Waterford meeting the members. In the September issue of “Irish Golfer” fans of Seamus will find an in-depth interview by John Craven on the West Waterford stars journey to winning his first PGA Tour event. For me, the final paragraph exemplifies the true character of Seamus Power. “A lot of work goes into it, and a lot of failures along the way and a lot of downs and stuff. But to finally be able to say to yourself, instead of saying , I know I can win on the PGA Tour, almost telling yourself that, versus I actually have done it, it’s a very cool feeling.
“Then to come home and see my Dad and see the pride in his face, they are probably the two things that stick out the most.”

Rules of Golf
The rules of golf are comprehensive and provide many answers to the many issues that arise in a game that is played worldwide on many different types of courses by players of all abilities. Many members play a lot of casual golf as they are entitled to, and rarely worry about checking the rules. For those who wish to familiarise themselves with the basic rules they should log on to golfireland website and follow the link for rules of golf.

Covid 19
We would like to thank everyone for their ongoing compliance with covid 19 restrictions. Members are reminded to keep up to date with ongoing changes and the lifting of some restrictions. Wearing a mask on entering the clubhouse and using sanitiser provided are still mandatory. Enjoy your game in a safe and responsible manner.
