West Waterford gained a share of the spoils at Gold Coast on Monday with a 2.5 to 2.5 result against Gold Coast. We now progress to the next round by virtue of our win in the first leg played at West Waterford. As always this proved to be a sporting contest and we thank Gold Coast for their hospitality on the day. We now go on to another local derby vs Dungarvan in the next round with the first leg due to be played in Dungarvan within the coming week. Panel members will be contacted as soon as we have a definite date for the first leg. The second leg will be played at West Waterford the following week.
Seamus Power returns to competitive action at the Sanderson Farms Championship played at the Country Club of Jackson Sept 29 – Oct 2, 2022. The event has a prize fund of $7,900,000. Seamus has full PGA tour privileges for the 22-23 season and will be aiming to secure his card for the following season. Currently rated 41 in the world golf rankings with five top 10 finishes and earnings in excess of 3 million dollars last season, the West Waterford man will be hoping to build on his success in the current season.
Gary Hurley finished tied 24th in the Swiss Challenge at the weekend.
ELIGIBILITY FOR INTER-CLUB COMPETITIONS 2023
To be eligible to represent their Club in any of the 2023 Inter-Club Competitions listed below, Golf Ireland have declared that members MUST have a fully developed Handicap Record i.e. 20 or more scores recorded on their record.
Whilst there is currently no requirement for these 20 scores to have been achieved in the previous calendar year, just from any date on their record, they must be on the player’s record before the end of 2022.
If you wish to be considered for selection to represent West Waterford Golf Club next year in any of the competitions listed below, you must ensure that you have at least 20 scores recorded on your Handicap Record by the end of this year.
