Gary Hurley on Alps continues his good run on the Alps Tour.Tour

Seamus Power finishes tied 12th at the US Open
Rounds of 71, 70,70, and 70 saw Seamus Power finish in a tie for 12th place in the US Open at Brookline over the weekend. Quite a performance when one considers this was his first appearance in this major event. On a course which becomes increasingly difficult with each round the West Waterford man played controlled golf over the four rounds once again showing he has the golfing skills and the right mentality to compete at this level. Entering the final round on one over par, Seamus birdied his opening hole to climb into the top 10. Bogeys at 3, 9, and 10 dropped him to 2 over and out of the top 20. Birdies on 12 and 18 saw him climb back into the top 15. Seamus is playing in the Travelers Championship June 23 to 26th. Following this he will return to Ireland where he will play in the Pro-Am at Adare manor on July 4th and 5th.
“Everyone at the moment is asking me about Augusta, but the 150th anniversary Open at St Andrews would be incredible. I played the St Andrews Links Trophy there as an amateur. It’s so special to play there, so to play the Open there would be incredible. That’s more on my radar than any of the rest and it would be an unbelievable month of golf with the Irish Open (at Mount Juliet) and then two weeks later St Andrews. So, that’s my goal for the month of July anyway.” We look forward to meeting you Seamus.
