Comeragh Oil Winter League

Leopards leap over Lions to secure Top Spot.  Round one finished on Sunday with all twelve teams having achieved their required four scores.  West Waterford is noted for having an annual  battle to the wire for the Cole Memorial Trophy and judging by the first round leaderboard above, the 2022/23 league will be no exception.  Last years captain Denis must be rejuvenated on completing his year in office and seems to be devoting all his energies to guiding his Leopards to a 2 point lead over the Lions on completion of round one.  But beware, there are lots of animals lurking in the trees and waiting to capture the coveted top spot.  The improved weather and ground conditions led to some fantastic scoring in the past week and we would like to thank the team captains and players for a great turnout so far.  We would earnestly request those who have not yet played to do so in round two and help continue the high standard to date.  Round two will commence on Monday 5th December and is envisaged to continue until Christmas eve.

Following the first two  rounds of singles stableford  there will be a matchplay round over the holiday period. Team members must have played at least once and paid the initial entry fee to be eligible for the matchplay round.  All teams will participate in the matchplay, and bonus points will be awarded to all who participate. On completion of the matchplay round we will revert back to the singles competition.

Full details of teams plus Rules and Format are available on the clubhouse notice board and have also been circulated to all on the WhatsApp list. Thank you to all who have played so far and again we ask all team members to make the effort to get at least one score in for their respective teams in round two. Members can play any day during the week and re-entry is permitted.  Remember to book you teetime in advance on the BRS booking system.
