The Irish Open
Back to back rounds of 68 on Thursday and Friday saw Seamus Power heading into round 3 on Saturday on 8 under par and poised for a top-10 finish. Unfortunately Saturday was one of those days when nothing went right and with just one birdie which put a big smile on his face Seamus dropped down to 50th place on the leaderboard. As he said himself “no excuses”, and he came back on Sunday to record another 68 to the delight of his numerous supporters. Seamus finished on 7 under par for a share of 30th place with fellow Irishman Padraig Harrington. The Lowry Power pairing on Thursday and Friday provided plenty excitement for the hoards of supporters who travelled to Mount Juliet to cheer their hero.
No rest for the wicked as Seamus packed his bags on Sunday evening and made his way to Adare Manor for the JP McManus pro am on Monday and Tuesday. By all accounts a large crowd of supporters plan to travel to the event where they hope to get up close and personal with the stars. Following the pro-am, Seamus is planning to play some links golf around the country in preparation for the Open at St Andrews on July 14-17th. Best of Luck Seamus.
