One Governing Body – Gents Members Meeting Tuesday 8th January

Since 2015 the Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI) and Irish Ladies Golfing Union (ILGU) have been engaged in significant consultations with member clubs, volunteers, club golfers, and branch and union officials with the aim of establishing a new governing body – Golf Ireland – to govern and promote the game of golf on the island of Ireland, replacing the existing organisations, the GUI, ILGU and Confederation of Golf in Ireland.

Already, based on those discussions a proposal on how these objectives can be achieved has emerged, and this proposal has been approved unanimously by the Board of the GUI

Top Twenty Finish for Seamus Power

Seamus Power got his 2019 season into gear at the weekend when he finished in 19th place at the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson Mississippi.
He carded rounds of 71, 68, 70, and 68 to finish on 11 under par for his four rounds.  Perhaps the most outstanding feature of this performance is the consistency with which he carved out the result.
Seamus has been working with coach Nick Bradley since the Wyndham Championship and already this association is starting to show results.
We all look forward to the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open this weekend and are

Ladies… Play in Pink

This exciting annual event took place on Sunday 7th October from 12pm to 2 pm.  It was a Scramble with a shotgun start from 12. It was fabulous to see all the ladies make such an effort to dress in pink for such a worthy cause.  The Clubhouse was buzzing.

Well done to Stella Kinsella on her big effort to win best dressed and also to all the ladies who made a big effort.  A big thank you also to the men who didn’t participate in the golf but made very generous donations on the day.
