Second Win on Pro Tour for Seamus Power

Gordonsville, VA – Through seven holes of play in Friday’s final round of the eGolf Tour’s Spring Creek Classic, Seamus Power of West Waterford, Ireland found himself trailing leader Adam Mitchell by three shots at 9-under par. A staggering finish featuring birdies on seven of his final 11 holes gave Power a come-from-behind win with a 16-under 197 total for a stunning five-shot victory, and his second win of the year

In March of this year, Power birdied three of his final seven holes to claim his first tour title at the River Run Classic. That experience, specifically, knowing how to win, gave him an edge down the stretch at Spring Creek. He was more than willing to take full advantage of it.

Power, looking to put his stamp on the week, drained a 9-foot birdie putt at the par-5 18th to finish off his dramatic final-round comeback with a 5-under 66, and a 16-under 197 total. The $15,000 first-place prize pushed his season-long earnings to $36,768, good for No. 9 on the tour’s money list.

“Last year I learned a lot. I was trying to do too much at times, thinking everyone else was a lot better than they actually were,” he said. “I found myself trying to birdie every hole and trying to keep up, whereas this year I’ve had more patience with myself.”

That patience, he said, played a key role in his win at Spring Creek.

Best of Luck: To our Junior Cup Team and Team Captain’s Morrie Ferncombe and Philip Spratt who play Dunmore East  in Waterford Castle this weekend.
