Round 1 of the winter league continued last weekend with members out in their numbers supporting their respective teams. Once again the frost and fog played spoilsport at the weekend with the late start on Saturday and no golf on Sunday. Consequently it has decided to extend round 1 of the winter league for another week up to Sunday January 31^st.

Anyone who has not played so far, may still enter the league this week, and can also enter by playing in the remaining rounds. Remember a team member must have played in at least one of the qualifying rounds in order to be eligible for the Matchplay rounds. Again we call on the team captains to keep in contact with their teams.

Pat Noctor Memorial Trophy

Congratulations to Gary Hurley in being one of twelve nominees for the Supreme young sports star of the year (2009) which takes place at Ard Scoil Na Deise. This is the seventeenth year of the Pat Noctor Memorial, Gary was one of the leading players in bringing west Waterford its first senior pennant to the club in 2009 and taking Eddie McCormick (Irish senior international) to the 19^th in all-Ireland final, he is also part of Justin’s famous Junior foursomes team winning 3 All-Irelands championships in 4 Years.

The Sunshine Golf Classic

Killester Travel has kindly agreed to sponsor a fantastic sunshine holiday to the value of €500 for each member of the winning team. An open meeting for all club members will be held on the 10^th of February in the clubhouse at 7.30pm. We are looking for members who will help to organize the event and would be grateful if you could attend.

South East League

The South East league is commencing on Sunday 14th March.

Group B consists of: Dungarvan, Gold Coast, Mitchelstown and West Waterford.

List is posted on the notice board in clubhouse for anybody in correct handicap categories to sign up now.
