South East Senior Alliance

West Waterford Golf and Country Club were delighted to play host to the South East Senior Alliance once more on Sunday last.

1^st: Joe O'Keeffe Waterford (5) - 68.

2^nd: Philip Clifford, Waterford (3) - 69.

1^st Gross: John Reynolds, Dungarvan (scratch) - 70.

3^rd: Noel Colfer, Waterford (6) - 69.

2^nd Gross: Michael Buggy, Castlecomer (+1) - 72.

4^th: Rory Fitzgerald, Tramore (5) - 70

Congratulations to Philip Walsh from West Waterford who achieved a Hole-in-One on the 11^th during his round in the Senior Alliance competition

Charity Presentation

Following a charity cycle between Dungarvan and Ennis in which more than 60 riders took part, monies to the value of €75,300 were raised.

On Saturday last at the Clubhouse, the McCarthy family presented the proceeds of the event to the Oncology department of the Waterford Regional Hospital in memory of Colum. Sincere thanks to all the organizers and participants.

Annual General Meetings

The Annual General Meetings of both the Ladies and the Men’s Club will take place on Wednesday 28^th November at 8pm in the Clubhouse. It is important that all members make the effort to attend.

Brickey Golf Society

Brickey Golf Society Christmas outing will take place Saturday 15^th December at West Waterford Golf Club

Names only on Timesheets and Cancelled Tee-times

With more limited time available for play and increased playing numbers, the practice of putting down a name +1 or +2 is no longer acceptable. With immediate effect +1 or +2 on singles timesheets will be removed. Only individual names will suffice as this identifies who is actually booked in to play. This facilitates the smooth running of the timesheet. All members are also urged to telephone the office, at the earliest opportunity, if they wish to cancel a tee time that they have previously booked, in the interest of fairness to all. Please remember: Players with their names on the timesheet have priority on the 1^st tee.

Dungarvan Golf Triangle

A major selling point of our three courses, Dungarvan Golf Club, Gold Coast Golf Club and ourselves West Waterford Golf Club is that we are all within 5 minutes drive of Dungarvan town center. The “Dungarvan Golf Triangle” effectively, allows you to purchase a ticket that enables you to play each of the three courses, Monday to Friday for the combined price of €80, and in this era of high green fee rates, this represents good value. ‘The Dungarvan Golf Triangle’ is being advertised through all the usual mediums and is on sale in each of the three golf clubs. Tickets are valid up to 31^st December 2007.

Condolences

Our sincere condolences go out to Club member Liam Reilly on the recent death of his mother.
