Junior Open

The timesheet is now posted for our Junior Open very kindly sponsored by Noel Devereux Menswear which takes place on Tuesday 7^th August. It is an 18-hole Stableford competition with a handicap limit of 22. Please telephone 058-43216 or 058-41475 to reserve a tee off time, timesheet in operation from 10am to 1pm.

Fred Daly

Our Fred Daly team traveled full of hope to Carrick on Suir Golf Club on Thursday last for their Munster semi-final but alas they had to give best to a very strong Ballybunion team. Well done to all the panelists and Junior Officer Justin Spratt and so all that remains is the All Ireland semi- final of the Irish Junior Foursomes in Westport Golf Club on Tuesday 28^th August

Waterford Ladies Football Golf Classic

The rescheduled Waterford Ladies Football Golf Classic takes place on Thursday 9^th and Friday 10^th August. The Classic is sponsored by Liam Whelan Plant Hire and Ger Enright Eurospar. Entry fee is €120 per team of four, gents, ladies or mixed. The playing format is Stableford with 2 scores to count on holes 1 to 15 and 3 scores to count on the last 3 holes. Handicap limits apply to Gents 22 and Ladies 32. To make a reservation please telephone West Waterford on 058-43216 or 058-41475.

Presidents Prize 2007 kindly Presented by Brendan Cullinan

The timesheet is now posted for the President’s Prize which for 2007 will be presented by Brendan Cullinan. The competition takes place on Friday 17^th, Saturday 18^th & Sunday 19^th August and will be a 36-hole Stableford event off the white markers. The draw for playing partners and precise playing time takes place in the Clubhouse on Wednesday evening 15^th August at 9pm. Brendan is a loyal and hard-working Club member, and has achieved many targets in his tenure as President, I am sure all the members will be out in force to support him. We wish Brendan, his family and friends all the very best for this prestigious weekend at West Waterford.

Dungarvan Autumn Pairs Golf Classic

Following on from the success of the Senior Pairs Classic in April and The Dungarvan Golf International last month, the three local clubs now announce details of the Dungarvan Autumn Pairs Classic. This event is open to all golfers, Ladies and Gents, and teams can be Ladies, Gents or mixed.

The competition will be played at West Waterford, Dungarvan and the Gold Coast and will take place on Monday 24^th, Tuesday 25^th and Wednesday 26^th September. The format will be a two-person rumble, a two-person scramble and Fourball Betterball. There are different packages available: Entry fee is €86 per person. There is a reduction on this figure for members of the three local clubs. For players who want to come and stay: 2 nights B&B, 3 rounds of golf and entry is €170. Further details can be obtained from any of the three participating clubs or by phoning the tournament director at 058 44055.

Condolences

Our sincere condolences go out to Billy and Jim Nugent and extended families on the death of their sister in the past week.
