Junior Cup

Our Junior Cup team traveled full of hope and anticipation to Tipperary Golf Club on Wednesday evening last to contest the area final of the Junior Cup. The two Pats had their charges well prepared but they had to give best to a very strong team from Clonmel Golf Club. Well done to all the panelists and mentors on reaching the area final stage and the best of luck to the Clonmel team who go on to play in the Munster semi-finals in Tralee.

Waterford Ladies Football Golf Classic

The Waterford Ladies Football Golf Classic scheduled for Thursday 21^st & Friday 22^nd June has been deferred due to the prevailing inclement weather and has been re-scheduled for Thursday 9^th and Friday 10^th August. The Classic is sponsored by Liam Whelan Plant Hire and Ger Enright Eurospar. Entry fee is €120 per team of four, gents, ladies or mixed. The playing format is Stableford with 2 scores to count on holes 1 to 15 and 3 scores to count on the last 3 holes. Handicap limits apply to Gents 22 and Ladies 32. August Bank Holiday Open Singles Sponsored by Ulster Bank

An Open Singles Competition with separate prizes for ladies and gents will take place on Saturday 4^th, Sunday 5^th and Bank Holiday Monday 6^th August. The 3-day competition on what promises to be a very busy weekend at the club is being kindly sponsored by Ulster Bank and we are most grateful for their support. Presidents Prize 2007 kindly Presented by Brendan Cullinan

The timesheet is now posted for the President’s Prize which for 2007 will be presented by Brendan Cullinan. The competition takes place on Friday 17^th, Saturday 18^th & Sunday 19^th August and will be a 36-hole Stableford event off the white markers. The draw for playing partners and precise playing time takes place in the Clubhouse on Thursday evening 16^th August at 9pm. Brendan is a loyal and hard-working Club member, and has achieved many targets in his tenure as President, I am sure all the members will be out in force to support him. We wish Brendan, his family and friends all the very best for this prestigious weekend at West Waterford.

Dungarvan Autumn Pairs Golf Classic

Following on from the success of the Senior Pairs Classic in April and The Dungarvan Golf International last month, the three local clubs now announce details of the Dungarvan Autumn Pairs Classic. This event is open to all golfers, Ladies and Gents, and teams can be Ladies, Gents or mixed.

The competition will be played at West Waterford, Dungarvan and the Gold Coast and will take place on Monday 24^th, Tuesday 25^th and Wednesday 26^th September. The format will be a two-person rumble, a two-person scramble and Fourball Betterball. There are different packages available: Entry fee is €86 per person. There is a reduction on this figure for members of the three local clubs. For players who want to come and stay: 2 nights B&B, 3 rounds of golf and entry is €170. Further details can be obtained from any of the three participating clubs or by phoning the tournament director at 058 44055.
