Gents Notes for week ending 8^th July

Another Justin and another Munster Title

The West Waterford Junior Foursomes team claimed another Munster title on Sunday at Mahon Golf Club. In the morning semi-final match they took on and beat the Limerick team and in the afternoon East Cork were their opponents in the final, who also succumbed to the stronger West Waterford team.

Congratulations to Junior Officer Justin Spratt for bringing another Foursomes Pennant to the club and also to the team of Philip Walsh, Philip Spratt, Jamie Glavin and Garry Hurley with subs, David Curran, Kenny Kelleher and Aidan Walsh

All the team members would like to thank all the supporters for their attendance, Limerick and Cork for the sporting matches and last but by no means least, Mahon Golf Club for their courtesy and hospitality.

Brickey Ranger Golf Society (Presidents Prize)

The next Brickey Ranger Golf Society outing will take place on Thursday 19^th July at 4.30pm in West Waterford Golf Club.

Waterford Ladies Football Golf Classic

The Waterford Ladies Football Golf Classic scheduled for Thursday 21^st & Friday 22^nd June has been deferred due to the prevailing inclement weather and has been re-scheduled for Thursday 9^th and Friday 10^th August. The Classic is sponsored by Liam Whelan Plant Hire and Ger Enright Eurospar. Entry fee is €120 per team of four, gents, ladies or mixed. The playing format is Stableford with 2 scores to count on holes 1 to 15 and 3 scores to count on the last 3 holes. Handicap limits apply to Gents 22 and Ladies 32. Deise Golf Pass

This new initiative was launched in Tramore Golf Club on Monday last and is the first of its kind in Ireland. As a full member of the 10 participating Clubs you may avail of golf at any of the Clubs and receive a 25% discount off the published green fee rate (Monday to Friday, terms and conditions apply). This offer is open to full individual members of the participating Clubs which are as follows: Carrick, Dungarvan, Dunmore East, Faithlegg, Gold Coast, Tramore, Waterford, Waterford Castle, West Waterford and Williamstown.

Dungarvan Golf Triangle

A major selling point of our three courses, Dungarvan Golf Club, Gold Coast Golf Club and ourselves West Waterford Golf Club is that we are all within 5 minutes drive of Dungarvan town center. The “Dungarvan Golf Triangle” effectively, allows you to purchase a ticket that enables you to play each of the three courses, Monday to Friday for the combined price of €80, and in this era of high green fee rates, this represents good value. ‘The Dungarvan Golf Triangle’ is being advertised through all the usual mediums and is on sale in each of the three golf clubs. Tickets are valid up to 31^st December 2007.
