Senior International Honor for Seamus Power:

For every serious amateur golfer it's the stuff of dreams… and unfortunately for most it remains so. To represent your country at the highest level is the ultimate goal. But Seamus power is no ordinary golfer; he has the talent and ability to make dreams come true and achieve his ultimate goals.

On Friday last, when the Irish Senior team to play the Home Internationals in Wales in September was announced, and included Seamus Power (West Waterford), it was red- letter day for Seamus and his club. Success rests comfortably on the broad shoulders of this exemplary young sportsman, but for Seamus this must surely be the pinnacle of his golfing career to date. He joins such notables as Rory McIlroy, Darren Crowe, Conor Doran, Simon Ward and Aaron O' Callaghan under Team Captain Michael Burns at Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club 6th to 8th September to compete against England, Scotland and Wales.

Immediately afterwards, Seamus heads for the U.S. to take up his scholarship in East Tennessee State University where he will study and compete in the company of the best amateurs in the world. We have no doubt that Seamus will perform with distinction and will be an outstanding ambassador in this world class arena. Seamus, the hearts and minds of all at West Waterford Golf Club will be with you every step of the way.
