Competition Results
The Final of the winter league competition very kindly sponsored by Comeragh Oil was played on Sunday in ideal conditions. The two teams contesting the final were Dungarvan and Carriglea. Dungarvan proved to be the better team on the day taking a comfortable win against Carriglea and are now the proud custodians of the Cole Memorial Trophy for the coming year. Congratulations to them and their team Captain Pat Power, also thanks to Carriglea and all who made this years winter League such a huge success.

Seamus Power performs well in South Africa
Seamus participated in the South African amateur championship in the past week. From an initial entry of in excess of 1000 players, 311 of the top amateurs in the world teed off for 4 rounds of stroke play. Seamus acquitted himself very well and finished in joint 39th position with a score of 294 after his four rounds. He made the half way cut after posting level par total of 144 for the first two rounds and went on to make the last 72 after the third round cut off. To qualify for a position in the last 32, the cut mark after 4-rounds of matchplay was set at 291; unfortunately Seamus missed out by 3 shots. Despite his disappointment at not making the final match play stage, Seamus can be justifiably proud of his performance against the top amateurs in the world.
