Winter League
The Winter League is now at the semi final matchplay stage. Matches have to be played from Monday 27th February to Sunday 5th March
The four teams going forward to the semi final Matchplay rounds as follows:

Timesheet Notice
Please remember: Players with their names on the timesheet have priority on the 1st tee.
Timesheets are in operation for all competitions. Please put your name and those playing with you on the timesheet or call the office to book a Tee-time
All members are also urged to telephone the office if they wish to cancel a Tee-time that they have booked in the interest of fairness to all.
Visitors are asked to note that GUI cards are mandatory.

Captains Drive-in, Mixed Scramble, Subscription free Draw, Lotto and Wine Tasting
Mary Quinlan and Ollie Broderick will host the traditional Captain’s Drive-In on Sunday 5th March at 2.30pm and all members are urged to lend their support to their respective Captains. The drive-in will be followed by a Mixed Scramble at 3pm, Subscription Free draw, Lotto and Wine tasting provided by Wine Buff Ltd; (Michael Sheehan) will take place in the Clubhouse afterwards. Prizes in the draw are as follows:
1st: Free Subscription for 2007
2nd: Green Fees at Rathsallagh Golf Club
3rd: Restaurant Vouchers.
In order to win 2nd and 3rd prizes in the draw, the member must be present at the draw. Only fully paid up members are eligible for the draw.
Any member who is interested in being considered for selection on either the Pierce Purcell or Jimmy Bruen panels is requested to place their name on the list which is posted on the main notice board in the entrance hallway.
We line out against Fota Island Golf Club in the next round of matches at home in West Waterford Golf Club on Saturday 4th March at 11.15am.
Best Wishes
Our best wishes go to Gold Coast Golf Club Secretary/Manager Tom Considine following his recent sudden illness. Tom has from the outset and remains an important member of the Dungarvan Golf International Committee and he is well known in golf circles. We hear that Tom is now on the mend; we wish him well and hope to see him stepping out on the fairways soon.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions for 2006 fell due on the 1st January 2006 and at this stage should all be paid, please remit the appropriate amount by post or to the office in person, at your earliest convenience.
There is a free draw for fully paid members on Sunday evening 5th March at 5pm in the Clubhouse, following the Captain’s Drive-in at 2.30pm and a Mixed Scramble at 3pm.

Dungarvan Senior Pairs Classic
Bookings are very strong for the above event which is a new novel competition for senior players (aged 55 and above) that will take place in early April 2006. In actual fact the event is now 75% full and if any member or golfers known to them wish to participate, they are advised to submit an entry together with the booking deposit of €50 per person, as soon as possible to the Tournament Directors. The 3 day competition will be held on the 3 local courses, Dungarvan, Gold Coast and West Waterford on Tuesday 4th, Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th April 2006. The format of play will be as follows: (A) a 2 person Rumble, (B) a 2 person Scramble, and (C) a Fourball Betterball. It is a team of 2 event and aggregate scores over the three courses will determine the overall winners. There will also be daily prizes. The competition is open to Ladies, Gentleman or Mixed Pairs. A one shot handicap reduction will apply to players playing on their own course (where their handicap is administered). Entry rates to the competition are as follows: 2 nights bed and breakfast accommodation, 3 Lunches and 3 days competition play is €155 per person and for players not wishing to avail of accommodation the rate will be €85 for 3 days competition play and 3 Lunches. This prestigious event now in its eighth year takes place from 23rd to the 25th May at our three local courses. The International which is jointly sponsored this year by Michael Ryan and his company Saltan Properties together with Bulmers is a showcase event for golf in the area and brings an influx of visitors to the town and surrounding areas which is of benefit to all. Any member of West Waterford, who brings a team, can avail of a free golf entry. This must be specified at the entry stage and all teams must include at least two visitors. Locker Allocation
The locker fee for 2006 is €15 and is now payable, any member wishing to forfeit his/her locker is asked to inform the office so that vacant lockers may be made available for hire to members on the waiting list.
