Brickey Golf Society
The Captain’s Prize (John Fleming) of the Brickey Golf society took place in Youghal Golf Club on Friday last and as expected there was a big turnout on the day.
1st: Michael Sheehan (17) 41pts. 2nd: Justin Spratt (15) 40pts. 3rd: Tommy Butler (10) 40pts.
The next Brickey Golf Society outing is scheduled for Saturday 15th October.
Fáilte House Open Qualifier Grand Final.
The timesheet for the Fáilte House sponsored Grand Final takes place on Sunday 23rd October is now available. All qualifiers thus far have been notified and one and all are urged to telephone West Waterford on 058-43216 or 058-41475as soon as possible to secure a tee-time for the Grand Final. The timesheet for the Grand Final which is an 18-hole Stableford competition, is running from 9.30 am to 1.51pm. The presentation of prizes for the Grand Final and all Wednesday winners will take place on Sunday 23rd in the Clubhouse at 6.15PM.
Open Wednesday Competitions
Owing to the ongoing success of the Failte House Open Wednesday qualifiers, we are going to continue with an Open Wednesday competition from Wednesday 26th October onwards. These competitions will be known as Autumn/Winter Open Wednesday competitions and will commence on Wednesday 26th October following the Failte House Grand Final. The entry fee for visitors will be EUR20.00. Prizes will be awarded each and every Wednesday and will be dependent on the number of entries. This is hoped to maintain interest and impetus on the Wednesdays up to Christmas, following the Failte House Grand Final. Further details on these Wednesday competitions will be printed in the notes and posted in the clubhouse in the near future, so watch this space!

Dungarvan Golf Triangle
Golf tourism as we all know is now a big business in Ireland and the Dungarvan area is ideally placed to garner its share of this ever expanding market. A major selling point of our three courses, Dungarvan Golf Club, Gold Coast Golf Club and ourselves West Waterford Golf Club is that we are all within 10 minutes drive of Dungarvan town center. The ‘Dungarvan Golf Triangle’ effectively, allows you to purchase a ticket that enables you to play each of the three courses, Monday to Friday for the combined price of €75, and in this era of high green fee rates, this represents good value. ‘The Dungarvan Golf Triangle’ is being advertised through all the usual mediums and is on sale in each of the three golf clubs.
Club Mixed Foursomes.
The Club Mixed Foursomes kindly sponsored by Abbey Autos Services (Paudie Landers), is now approaching conclusion with Suzanne Dalton and Chris Gough set to meet Marie Curran and Michael Landers in what promises to be a fascinating final.
Club Fourball
The Club Fourball kindly sponsored by Fitzgerald Insurances is also drawing to a close with the pairing of Brendan Cullinan and Billy Nugent coming up against Tommy Butler and Peter Purcell in the final.
Club Singles Matchplay.
The Club singles, which is kindly, sponsored again this year by East Cork Oil, is now nearing completion. Responsibility of arranging matches lies with the top pairing on the draw sheet in each round.
