WEST WATERFORD GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB NOTES
Notes for week ending 21st August 2005
The undoubted highlight of last weekend was the President’s Prize for 2005 kindly presented by Willie Lyons. The format was a 36-hole Stableford competition. Leading qualifiers from Friday and Saturday competed on Sunday over another 18-holes with the aggregate score from the qualifier round and the final round determining the winner. The presentation of prizes took place on Sunday evening before a packed audience followed by music and craic. The large number of family, friends and club members who were out in force to support him on Sunday night reflected Willie's huge popularity as Club President.
We would like to thank Willie and Geraldine for a great weekend at West Waterford Golf and Country Club.

SCRAMBLE
Please note that the final Scramble for the summer will take place on Friday next 26th August followed by a Barbeque with music and presentation of outstanding prizes. All members are urged to come along for what is guaranteed to be a fun event.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS.
Tom Feerick’s Open Day, which was deferred from the last day of Open Week, now takes place on Sunday 28th August; Golfer of the Week will be decided following this event. Presentation of prizes will take place at 8.30pm on the Sunday night together with the presentation of prizes from the Ulster Bank Open which took place on the August Bank Holiday weekend. The following are requested to be in attendance for the presentation of prizes from the Ulster bank Open: Morrie Ferncombe (WW), Séan Walzer (Callan), Mark Shanahan (WW), Tom Marley (WW), Austin Spratt (WW) and Denis Gaffney (Rathsallagh).
The Open Seniors Competition kindly sponsored by The Country Store, Mitchel Street Arcade, takes place on Thursday 1st September.
