Southeast League.
West Waterford and East Cork met in the final of the Southeast League at the Gold Coast on Sunday 10th April. Unfortunately West Waterford had to give way to East Cork who were the better team on the day. Well done to East Cork on their victory and commiseration's to the home team West Waterford. We now look forward to Purcell and Bruin Competitions later in the year.
JUNIORS
IRISH JUNIOR FOURSOMES
Our junior foursomes team traveled to Cahir Park golf club to take on Tramore. For the most of the match it seemed that Tramore had the upper hand as they held a healthy lead at the halfway stage, but the West Waterford boys came through to take the match 4 up. They will now contest the Munster semi-finals at Mitchelstown.
FRED DALY
In the Fred Daly Competition the same junior team had home advantage last Saturday against Thurles. The team continued in their winning streak beating the visitors from Thurles 4-1. They are now through to the next round when they will take on the Tipperary juniors.
The winning junior team are, Seamus Power, Cian Kearney, David Curran, Philip Spratt, Philip Walsh. Sub: Kieran Gee.
Well done to them on winning both matches and congratulations to team manager Pat Spratt who proved more than an able deputy for Junior Officer Justin Spratt.

HIGH HANDICAP
High Handicap competitions recommenced on Tuesday 5th April. This is a sure sign that the 2005 golfing season is well under way; many of the hardy annuals were much in evidence in this first competition. We would urge any new members to come along and participate in these weekly get-togethers.
LOCKER ALLOCATION
The locker fee for 2005 is EUR 15 and if this fee and any arrears are not paid immediately, the relevant locker will be forfeited and be made available for hire to members on the waiting list.
CARE OF THE COURSE
Continuously and in particular over the past weeks much work has been done to keep the greens in tip top condition.
It has come to our attention that the scourge of pitch marks on greens, is rearing its ugly head once more, not that it ever goes away permanently, just ask the greenkeeper.
It is imperative that players repair their pitchmarks immediately on reaching the green to ensure the quickest recovery of the green surface.
Many visitors to our club in recent months have been highly complimentary on the quality of the greens and the appearance of our golf course in general, please play your part to keep it this way.

At this stage all subscriptions for the 2005 season should now be paid. We request that all members who haven’t paid to please submit the appropriate amount to the office, by post or in person immediately.

Our fixture booklet for the 2005 season is now well freely available at the office and all members are urged to pick up a copy in order to make themselves familiar with the up and coming events of what promises to be an extremely busy golfing year at West Waterford Golf and Country Club.
