Wednesday Competition.

As envisaged we resumed the Wednesday competitions now that the Comeragh Oil sponsored winter league is at the Matchplay stages. This is hoped to maintain interest and impetus prior to the onset of the spring/summer period when the main body of the golfing calendar for 2005 will commence. The Wednesday competitions will continue up to the re-commencement of the Failte House Open Qualifiers on Wednesday 13^th April.

CAPTAIN’S DRIVE IN AND MIXED SCRAMBLE

Alicia Browne and John Flynn are going to host the traditional Captain’s Drive-In on Sunday 6^th March at 2.30pm and all members are urged to lend their support to their respective Captains as we look forward to the dawn of another golfing season in West Waterford. The drive-in will be followed by a Mixed Scramble at 3pm and the Subscription free draw will take place in the Clubhouse afterwards.

SUBSCRIPTION FREE DRAW

There is a free draw for fully paid members on Sunday evening 6^th March at 5pm in the Clubhouse, following the Captain’s Drive-in at 2.30pm and a Mixed Scramble at 3pm.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS

Junior Scratch Cup

Waterford Crystal is kindly sponsoring the Junior Scratch Cup competition this year. It takes place on Easter Monday 28^th March and is an 18-hole Stroke event with handicap range of 5 to 11. The timesheet always fills up very quickly for this prestigious event so prompt reservation of your tee-time is advised. Nire/Ballymacarbry GAA Golf Classic

The Nire/Ballymacarbry GAA Golf Classic takes place on Thursday 24^th, Friday 25^th and Saturday 26^th March. It is a team of 4 Stableford and to make a reservation please telephone West Waterford on 058-43216 or 058-41475.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

As we approach the end of February all subscriptions for the 2005 season should now be paid. We request that all members who haven’t paid to please submit the appropriate amount to the office, by post or in person immediately.

FIXTURE BOOKLETS

Our fixture booklet for the 2005 season is now well on the way to being with the publishers, as several members of the Committee are putting together the final nuts and bolts of the calendar for 2005. It should be published in approximately three weeks time and will be freely available in the office. All members are urged to pick up a copy in order to make themselves familiar with the up and coming events of what promises to be an extremely busy golfing year at West Waterford Golf and Country Club.

LOCKER ALLOCATION

The locker fee for 2005 is EUR 15 and if this fee and any arrears are not paid immediately, the relevant locker will be forfeited and be made available for hire to members on the waiting list.
